Design is an important aspect of our model of care. Our homes are designed for people living with younger onset dementia to have a sense of belonging, feel comfortable, safe, and secure, and to promote choice and independence.
Colour
As colour perception alters, we use it for awareness of space, direction, comfort and to support wayfinding.
Lighting
Carefully placed lighting and natural light can support, guide, aid navigation, and foster a sense of direction.
Noise
Our focus is a peaceful, reassuring home environment. We design our homes to minimise noise and enhance wellbeing.
Scent
Aromas are used to create memories of a peaceful safe and familiar home, and daily cooking in the kitchen stimulates and activates skills.
Space
Our homes are secure, welcoming, modern, and designed for active living. Family support visits are encouraged.
Wayfinding
Flow, circulation, and continuity allow you to feel comfortable and at home, and move independently without intervention.
